Dawn Boyer, Artistic and Choir Director
dawn@rootsgospel.org

The Roots & Gospel Project (RGP) is founded upon Dawn Boyer's vision, and as Artistic and Choir Director, she's responsible for helping to guide the Board and membership according to that vision. She also attends to many of the day-in/day-out details that keep the organization running--booking performances, writing concert programs, researching the history of American gospel music, formulating small groups, attending to fundraising, hiring musicians and soloists, leading and working with the Artistic Committee on song selection and arrangements, and the like.

For more than 25 years, she has performed as a gospel, blues and R&B vocalist for audiences across the nation. Known as a soulful "shouter" as well as a singer of quiet, deep, warm resonance, she puts all of her heart and life experience into any song she sings. Her dynamic voice is both powerful and moving, but the emotion she gives to a song and to audiences is even more so. In addition to making her living as a musician and working for the RGP, Dawn is a visual artist and has her own web/graphic design business.
